A closer look at the postage stamps reveal our love for the outdoors (both mountains and beach), the bride’s first dog (a cocker spaniel), the groom’s long awaited retriever, and, of course, both Nebraska and California.
The envelope liner features a topographic map of the area where our ceremony will take place. Topo maps show the geographical contours of the land.
The bride’s engagement ring is also shown.
A Note From Us
We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate our wedding with you! This will be a reception only event featuring a sit down dinner and a night of storytelling and dancing. But what about the ceremony? We’re going to have one of those too, but it will be with immediate family only. A small, intimate ceremony up in the mountains of Big Bear, California. We then get to celebrate with all of our family and friends! The reception will still be an epic celebration of our wedding. I (the bride) even get to wear my dress twice!

A Few Things to Know
• Our wedding ceremony with our immediate family will be proceeding as planned for June 12th.
• We have postponed our wedding reception from our original June date to August 8th, 2020.
• We are still closely monitoring the gathering restrictions in Orange County. As long as outdoor dining is legal, we are able to have our reception. If that were to change, we’ll update all of our guests via email.
• Are you visiting from out of town? We know this is all a lot of crazy right now! Go ahead and take advantage of those cheap flights right now, but please book with an airline that has a flexible change policy.
• Although we love your little ones, this is an adult only celebration.
About the Bride
Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Sarah is a midwestern girl through and through. She found her way to California after graduating college with a degree in graphic design in 2011. After working for a design studio for four years, she branched out on her own and has since been self-employed helping other small business owners. In her spare time she can be found training for her next big hike or backpacking trip. Nothing has yet to top her epic climb of Catalina Island end to end in one day (36 miles)! While a piece of her heart will forever be in the midwest with her family, she has built a community of friends in Southern California who are always supporting her adventurous life.
It was no surprise to Sarah that God would bring someone she would have never saw coming to be her husband. For much of her time in California, she was content to do the Lord’s work and in her singleness, which meant dating very little. It was a shared connection that brought Mitch into her life in August of 2019. She feels God made it completely clear that Mitch was the man she is to marry. She has only ever loved one, and that is the man who will soon become her husband.
About the Groom
Mitch is a born and raised Orange County boy with a love for surfing. He could be found on his dirt bike out in the desert all through his adolescence. While he initially thought architecture was in his future, it quickly became clear that accounting was his calling. After graduating Cal State Fullerton, he became a CPA employed at EY and has consistently been promoted due to his drive and commitment to excellence. While not working, he can be found walking the wetlands with his mom or enjoying time with his sister and her family.
He would have never guessed his mom would be the one to bring his attention to the woman he would marry. She had been conspiring with a friend who had a daughter who was friends with Sarah. Agreeing to meet this random person was not something he would have normally done, but for some reason his interest was piqued. He discovered Sarah in both an unexpected way and at an unexpected time. It wasn’t long before he was “twitterpated” with her. Who would have thought he’d find a woman who loves budgets and spreadsheets just as much? It was clear to him that God was in this relationship and had been weaving this connection for years. He had fallen madly in love with the woman who would become his wife.
