On Friday, June 12th, 2020, Sarah and Mitch were married in the presence of God by their pastor with both immediate families as their witnesses. The Arapaho National Forest west of Idaho Springs, Colorado provided them with an epic background showcasing God’s beautiful creation.

The clip at the beginning of the video is real footage from the bride on her way to their first date. Sarah never told Mitch she made a video until the morning of their wedding when she sent it to him. Ceremony video shot and edited by Brooke & Jacob.

A cabin in Silverthorne, Colorado proved to be the perfect basecamp for the wedding weekend. With Mitch’s family traveling from California and Sarah’s from Nebraska, one home for all to stay in was a perfect chance for the families to meet and bond. The mountain views from every room were a reward for the hard fought journey to get everyone in one place during a pandemic.

A Treasured Gift

While 2020 was the year of the Tezak Wedding, it was also the year the bride’s parents celebrated 40 years of being married. To honor her mother, Sarah took some of the lace details from her mom’s wedding dress and had them sewn onto remnants from the bride’s dress. The result being beautiful handkerchiefs for the bride, her mom, and sister. The bride wrapped hers around the stems of her bouquet. Something old and new to hold tight to on her wedding day.

In December 2019, Sarah went wedding dress shopping with her mom and sister while she was back in Omaha, Nebraska. Their second day on the hunt took them to Arc Bridal Boutique where she fell for a Scout Bridal dress. After being made in New York City, the dress (and some extra lace) made its way to Orange County, California. There the bride worked with a local seamstress to rebuild the top into a one of a kind custom dress featuring impeccable symmetric details and craftsmanship.

The groom wore a Bonobos sport coat and chinos, along with the timepiece the bride gifted him for Christmas.

To celebrate their upcoming honeymoon to Jamaica, the groom gifted the bride with a gold conch shell bracelet. Sarah gave Mitch a branded leather toiletry bag.

At two o’clock on June 12th, both families left the cabin to make the hour long drive to the ceremony location. Sarah and Mitch had never seen the spot their photographer found for them just the day before. Not long into the drive Mitch received a call from their pastor (who had flown in for just the afternoon) saying the interstate was shut down with a car on fire. A stressful half hour proceeded with neither the bride nor groom knowing if they had an officiant. Thankfully a police officer helped find a way and you can see the bride’s relief below.

Listen to the voicemail their pastor left for Mitch.

The bride’s sister read the following scripture:

“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
